Words & money

When money is behind words, their meaning changes. Even if the exact same words are used.

Mainstream media trained us to know the above statement is true, which is why large corporations are falling over themselves to embrace the new media tools the internet has provided. They think they might be able to trick us. That we might not be able to differentiate between a paid voice and a human one.

Startup blog says: The evidence around the words will always tell us the real story about who is speaking.

  1. Hi Steve!

loving your wisdom and business zen from these last few posts. Totally agree with you here. The value of words is almost tainted when mixed in with money. But do most consumers care?

I’m pretty sure they do, but then the corporations don’t seem to get the point that they care. Clear example. Corp A recognises the need to be on Social Media so they go out and have a Facebook Page, Twitter, etc but still employ the same “us vs them” mentality on these platforms.

Any corporations reading this should think about their conversation strategy 1st before employing social media based tactics. Surely they would want to maximise the ROI on their words?
